SECURITY OF TRANSACTIONS

All payments made using cards are processed via the “ePOS Paycenter” electronic payments platform of Piraeus Bank, which uses TLS 1.1 encryption with the 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL) encryption protocol. Encryption is a method of encoding the information sent until this reaches its intended recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key. Piraeus Bank assists businesses that manage payment card data to certify compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The international Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) has been created by international payment organisations (Visa, MasterCard, etc.). It sets out specific security standards. Commercial businesses that accept, process, store or transmit payment card data must comply with them. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) mainly aims at enhancing security for the card data the business manages. This way we serve our customers more efficiently by securing their transactions.
